Haley Lam
Clinic Coordinator
Hello! My name is Haley and I am the Clinic Coordinator at Being & Becoming Counselling and Wellness Services.
As one of your go to people at the clinic, I will be managing appointments, tending to inquiries, and ensuring the clinic is operating smoothly.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, hiking, dog walking and learning about positive dog training methods, travelling, and baking. I also appreciate being able to slow down, write in my journal, and have a deep, thought-provoking conversation with a friend over a big cup of tea.

Before joining the clinic, I worked with children and youth in various roles, ranging from summer camp counsellor to peer tutor. During this time, I also obtained a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Zoology at the University of Guelph, followed by a Master’s degree in Human Development Psychology at the University of British Columbia. My most recent professional experiences were working as an office coordinator for a youth health non-profit organization and working at a dog daycare. This past year I also had the privilege of studying Mandarin abroad in Taiwan for three months and experienced the effects of cultural adjustment and connection on my own social and emotional development and wellness.

I am passionate about supporting others in practicing kindness and humility in their relationships and believe that animal assisted therapeutic and educational programs can facilitate the development of these skills. I aspire to go back to school for a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology, as I believe this will allow me to bridge and apply my curiosities surrounding the influence of our relationship to animals, environment, and culture on overall human development and wellness.
